Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.
Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Erin Prophet, PhD, is an author and scholar who studies spiritual experience and has also been a "channeler." She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at East Carolina University.
Jeff Kripal is the J. Newton Rayzor Chair in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University, the co-director of Esalen's Center for Theory & Research, and the author of How to Think Impossibly: About Souls, UFOs, Time, Belief, and Everything Else.
Sadia Bruce is a creative force and educator at Esalen, shaping transformative experiences at the intersection of yoga, breath, somatics, and ancestral wisdom.
