Land and water are both sacred and foundational to Esalen. Deepening our knowledge of these natural treasures is crucial to protecting the planet. We are planting seeds for new opportunities to strengthen connection and understanding of the world around us through hands-on experiences that can be applied into daily life, working towards solutions.

Join the Esalen community for a two-week exploration that grounds the mind, body, heart, and spirit through connecting with nature. This eco-journey illuminates the importance of living harmoniously and in an intentional way. We are the caretakers of this Earth and we are responsible for its survival.

This immersion focuses time on and in Esalen’s Farm & Garden. Be prepared to get your hands dirty learning sustainable farming practices throughout the two weeks. We will also broaden our discussions to encompass other environmentally important topics such as climate, environmental justice and watershed conservation.

Classes will be led by the Esalen resident faculty in addition to visiting teachers to support the cultivation of sustainable daily practices.

Together, we’ll dig into:

  • Sustainable farming practices
  • Climate and environmental justice
  • Ocean and watershed mindfulness
  • Gestalt Awareness practices
  • Esalen-style “check-ins” — a six-decade practice of community mindfulness
  • Breathwork, yoga, and inspirational writing practices

Ensuring the world’s and humanity’s survival is our responsibility as Earthly citizens. Become a part of the Esalen community and discover the power and beauty of Mother Nature while experiencing transformation through service!
