Timber Fire Update: August 11

Dear Seekers, Esalen friends and family,

This page is where we will share all updates about Esalen upcoming workshops and the Timber Fire that began on the evening of August 8th in Big Sur. We are closely monitoring the fire and following guidance from local authorities. Our priority is the safety of our staff, guests, community, and the land we call home.‍

This page will have the most current information, so there is no need to reach out to the Esalen team directly.

We are still assessing whether workshops scheduled for August 14–16 can safely proceed, and we do not have an answer yet. We are closely monitoring the situation and will share an update here as soon as we know more. In the meantime, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding as our team focuses on safety and responding to this evolving situation.

We are deeply grateful to the firefighters and first responders working to protect Big Sur and its communities.
