Timber Fire Update

September 3, 2026

Dear Esalen Friends & Family,

We are proceeding with our planned reopening on September 14. While Highway 1 remains closed to the south at approximately Mile Marker 16 due to the Plaskett Fire, the fire is not currently a threat to Esalen and does not change our plans to welcome guests back. Access from the north remains open.

We’re grateful for everyone’s patience as we have been navigating this situation.
