Andrew Huberman Joins Esalen Board as Institute Expands Its Leadership in Human Potential

Global Health Leader Edith Elliott also appointed to Board of Trustees

BIG SUR, CALIF. – June 15, 2026 – Andrew Huberman, one of the world’s most influential neuroscientists, has joined the Board of Trustees of Esalen Institute, alongside global health leader Edith Elliott, bringing together two leaders whose work reflects the growing intersection of science, healing, and human potential.

Huberman, widely known for translating cutting-edge neuroscience into practical tools for focus, resilience, and performance, has helped bring brain science into everyday life for millions of people around the world. His work explores a question long at the heart of Esalen’s mission: how a deeper understanding of the mind can expand the boundaries of human possibility. For more than six decades, Esalen Institute has convened trailblazing minds exploring the frontiers of human potential — from early visionaries such as Abraham Maslow to contemporary leaders in science, psychology, and contemplative practice.

Huberman now joins that lineage, bringing both his influential voice in modern neuroscience and a global constellation of leading scientists, innovators, and big thinkers shaping the future of science, wellbeing, and human performance worldwide.

Elliott is CEO of Noora Health, a global nonprofit she has scaled into a billion-dollar initiative transforming healthcare delivery while advancing wellness, education, and personal empowerment. Her leadership has helped equip millions of families across South and Southeast Asia with life-saving healthcare knowledge — giving communities the tools to actively guide their own healing and long-term wellbeing. Her work reflects a principle at the very core of Esalen’s legacy: that meaningful transformation begins when people are empowered with knowledge, awareness, and agency in their own growth.

Together, these appointments mark a new chapter in Esalen’s long tradition of convening visionary thinkers who challenge the limits of what the human mind, and the societies we build together can become.

The Board of Trustees is chaired by technology entrepreneur and venture capitalist Dave Morin. Earlier this year, William Donius was named Vice Chair. Donius is recognized for his work as a leading ideation facilitator and workshop leader exploring creative problem-solving, intuition, and the untapped capacities of the human mind.

“Esalen has always been a place where visionary thinkers gather to explore the deeper possibilities of human development and the evolving potential of the human mind,” said Morin. “Andrew and Edith each bring extraordinary expertise and vision that will help guide Esalen as global interest in neuroscience, contemplative practice, and human potential continues to grow.”
