Esalen opens May 3, 2024

Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.

Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Maya Jaguar | Guest Faculty

Rev. Maya Jaguar is an ordained Interfaith Reverend, ritualist, and transformational thought leader working at the intersection of spiritual growth, personal evolution, and organizational change. Known for her ability to hold space across dimensions — from the boardroom to the sacred circle — Maya guides individuals, teams, and companies through deep, catalytic transformation.

She recently concluded a decade-long tenure as Cultural Alchemist and Head of Transformation at Google X, Alphabet’s Moonshot Factory, where she led groundbreaking work in culture design, learning and development, and leadership transformation. Prior to that, Maya served as Head of Diversity, championing equity and inclusion across high-impact innovation teams.

Maya is also the founder of Love Church, a pop-up interfaith spiritual experience that brings together music, ritual, and reverence from global wisdom traditions. A skilled ritualist, she has designed and facilitated sacred ceremonies both within and beyond corporate spaces — always with a focus on emotional intelligence, wholeness, and human potential.

She is the co-author of the best-selling book Practical Genius: A 5-Step Plan to Turn Your Talent and Passion into Success and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ketamine Research Foundation and the Advisory Board of The Portal in Mill Valley, CA — further amplifying her commitment to integrated healing and consciousness work.

Maya holds a BA in English Literature from Binghamton University, an MPA from Baruch College, and is a graduate of One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, where she was ordained during the pandemic. She resides in the Bay Area and actively practices across four spiritual lineages, embodying a daily devotion to healing, creativity, and inner alignment.
