Esalen opens May 3, 2024

Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.

Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Bri Boertman

Bri Boertman, MEd, 500 E-RYT, has facilitated therapeutic yoga, art, and adventure experiences for nearly 20 years. Bri coaches people from all walks toward transformation and healing through emBodied yoga practices, connection to wild spaces, and creative self-expression.

Bri is the Founder and Director of Deva Healing Center, Deva SoulJourneys, and emBodied Yoga School of New Mexico. Steeped in trauma-informed and culturally literate practices, Bri’s programs aim to collaboratively cultivate empowerment and voice for individuals and communities who have been historically marginalized, silenced, and oppressed. 

emBodied Yoga School is a radical and revolutionary 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher Training that promotes the decolonization of modern yoga practices. Deva SoulJourneys is a summer program that offers teen womyn/womxn opportunities for healing and connection through movement, mindfulness, expedition travel, creative self-expression, and experiential education workshops on identity.

Bri is also a river guide, rock climbing instructor, and avid wilderness expedition enthusiast. She has spent over 3,000 nights sleeping under the stars and hiked thousands of miles in epic mountain and desert earthscapes, like the Grand Canyon, Sierra Nevadas, Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and most recently, the Pecos Wilderness in New Mexico.
