Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.
Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Aimee Breslow is an Affiliated Scholar at the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, University of San Diego, a Certified Dream Work Facilitator with the Marin Institute for Projective Dream Work, and a certified archetypal consultant. Her research explores conflict transformation at the intersection of politics, psychology, and spirit. Aimee was a founding member of the Negotiations Support Unit at the U.S. Department of State, where she advised senior officials on peace processes and complex political negotiations. Her work focused on increasing the inclusivity of peace processes and the durability of peace agreements to stop the cycle of violence. Throughout her professional life, Aimee has lived with her feet in two worlds, one as a practitioner of international diplomacy and the other as a practitioner and teacher of Jungian-based modalities (dream work and archetypes). She is a unique mixture of these worlds, who can translate concepts and approaches in both fields, making new material accessible to most anyone.
