This workshop is based on the latest compassion research from Stanford University’s Compassion Institute. This immersive training includes philosophical approaches based on the ancient wisdom of compassion with modern applications of compassion for self and others. Founding faculty member, Dr. Leah Weiss, will explore contemplative topics surrounding compassion burnout, exercising self-compassion, and determining some of the biggest issues surrounding the practice of compassion in the workplace and in life in general.
Participants will learn how and why meditation is essential to a strong compassion practice, will be led through regular meditation exercises, will participate in group discussions designed to challenge core beliefs, and will have a chance to apply and report on practicing compassion in the real world. Following the completion of this course, participants will earn a certificate of completion from the Compassion Institute. This course is especially useful for health and healing professionals in working with clients and patients. Visit Dr. Weiss’s website: www.leahweissphd.com.
