SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is a healing process that helps rid the mind and body of residual effects of past trauma and associated negative emotional experiences. Joint research efforts by Dr. John Upledger and biophysicist Dr. Zvi Karni led to the discovery that the body often retains (rather than dissipates) physical forces resulting from accident, injury, or emotional trauma, and then isolates the dysfunctional area, creating an “energy cyst.” Although a reasonably healthy body can work and adapt to energy cysts, extra energy is required to perform normal bodily functions.
