Giving a massage is a sure-fire way to “come home” to a refreshed and relaxed sense of self. For the giver, it can heighten intuitive, non-verbal communication and build a sense of connection with all living beings. Brita and Silvia will guide participants via touch, muscles, and movement, to savor the elemental skills of Esalen Massage.
Participants will connect with their own inner awareness as they master the long, flowing structural approach of Esalen Massage, which also includes detail-oriented work to release deep holding patterns. The group will also focus on the physiology of breath and relaxation, and the psychological impact of touch. Self-care will be emphasized throughout the workshop, with plenty of time for supervised practice and questions. By the end of the weekend, participants will be able to share basic massage skills with friends and family.
This course is suitable for beginners, those who seek to add additional skills to their practice, and massage practitioners experiencing burnout who want to re-inspire and refresh their work. This workshop is also useful for those in the helping and healing professions in working with their clients and patients.
