To name and embrace your life’s contradictory truths and authentic paradoxes is essential to creating an inspired and effective life. By doing this, you can understand how to work with the contradictions and find clarity, balance, and meaning within the context of your particular circumstances. Through embracing the paradoxes of life, you can become more present and fully alive for each moment: in your work, relationships, and everyday life.
During this workshop, we will utilize mindfulness practice, Zen stories, and the material of our daily lives to practice five core paradoxes, or truths, which are embedded in how we live:
· Know yourself, forget yourself
· Be confident, question everything
· Fight for change, accept what is
· Embrace emotion, embody equanimity
· Benefit others, benefit yourself
These paradoxes are meant to be practiced, not merely understood or studied. Through practice we can learn to clarify and shift our habits so that we are more accepting and more successful in our everyday lives.
