Jean Shinoda Bolen is a storyteller who brings mythic patterns to life in listeners and readers. Her book, Goddesses in Everywoman, has been published in more than thirty foreign translations. Gods in Everyman followed and completed the pantheon of Mt. Olympus — the gods and goddesses that are archetypes in all of us. These deities are expressed in relationships, family dynamics, and clinical symptoms.
In this workshop, Jean will introduce selected myths and expand on their meanings through in-depth storytelling and discussion. Through this experience, we’ll explore the ways that myth, archetype, expression of the pattern, and problems come together. The result may be an a-ha! experience when we realize that a myth or symbol suddenly is about us, or about a significant relationship, or it helps us to see our clients or patients with a deeper, compassionate understanding. Emphasis will also be on the relationship of these archetypes to the Self, to individuation, to living one’s personal myth, and seeing life as a soul journey.
