We live in a world that constantly challenges our bodies and our nervous systems. We have daily psychological, social, environmental, biological, and lifestyle challenges. Over time, these challenges can diminish our innate capacity for healing, self-regulation, and even our sense of being able to stay on top of our daily lives. Cycles of depletion get started which are difficult to reverse and compound one another. Reversing the depletion process and rebuilding our resiliency is a critical endeavor for our lives.
People don’t often approach resiliency in effective ways, however. They look to make large changes, or try to identify main “problems,” or even think of “resiliency” as something innate rather than empowered. Using a mind/body approach based in the techniques of craniosacral therapy, mindfulness, coaching, and gentle postural/gestural work, we will learn about practices to support the innate healing capacity of all participants. Emphasis will also be placed on integrating and sustaining the course skills.
This is open to anyone interested in building his or her innate resiliency. Since a big part of this course will involve therapeutic touch, interested participants should be willing to give and receive gentle therapeutic touch as well as share experiences in a group setting.
