Every part and system of the body has an elegant and intelligent design behind it, supporting its meaning and purpose. The Earth and Water elements enter our bodies through the digestive system, and then flow into the blood stream, building and maintaining the delicate balance of our bones, vital organs, and soft tissues. The Air we breathe brings life to the sacred Fire within, and somehow Space becomes form.
During this yoga journey, every part of the body is honored and treasured through yoga practices that emphasize conscious connection with the systems and organs behind each element: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether/ Space. With pranayama and meditation integrated into the asana practice, all groups of postures are specifically taught to enhance awareness of the inner workings and flow of energy within. Our shoulders, hips, spine, feet, and hands get their fair share of attention as well, with sequences that reach into places of need, clear out the debris, and facilitate the goal of optimal vitality and energy flow. Please bring a yoga mat and any props that you need for your practice.
