Chronic pain is a worldwide affliction that disrupts the lives of the sufferers and their loved ones. This workshop will approach treatment from the neuroplasticity perspective using perception and imagination. A constellation of experiences will permit individuals to "self-prescribe" innovative techniques to transform their pain experience. Engagement of physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual consciousness will be explored using a series of experiential approaches; supportive documentation from the literature will be offered. At the completion of this workshop, it is anticipated that participants will create a compelling new context for pain as well as identify specific techniques to deal effectively with management of pain. Each participant will have the opportunity to construct a personal "prescription" for adaption and finding comfort, which they can continue to adjust over time as needs change. The workshop will be useful to chronic pain patients, their loved ones, and the health professionals who wish to enrich their healing capacity.
