In the latter part of the last century, Joseph Campbell started a quiet mythological revolution by laying out the practical, universal steps of the Hero's Journey — a quest for self-realization that every hero follows to find the source of their bliss. Translated into a modern context for our fast-paced, science-based lives, the Hero's Journey becomes even more relevant for each of us as a road map to discover the trajectory each of us takes in order to awaken our own greatest potential. To walk on our own journey is to overcome our own deepest fears and emerge the hero of our own story.
In this experiential workshop, discover the importance of your own personal mythology through the lens of depth psychology, philosophy, and modern mystic practices such as yoga, meditation, ritual creation, and journaling. Using these techniques (be prepared for some movement), you will explore how the Hero's Journey unfolds in your personal life and be given long-term, practical tools for creating the life you have always imagined. Unpack and map your own heroic journey, explore the relevance of myth in your life, and learn about methods to transform challenges into opportunities. This course aims to leave you with a sense of purpose, optimism, resilience, and connection that you can carry with you every day. Please bring a yoga mat.
