With our body we are in the presence of a force that is filled with wisdom, loving, flawlessly reliable, and, strange to say, worthy of our deepest devotion. —Reginald Ray
Are you, like many of us, living suspended between the yearning for self-expression and the fear of being too much –– or not enough? Do you know both your tendency to hide and your deep desire to offer something of value to the world? Are you confused by the apparent conflict between the truth of spiritual unity and the complexity of human interactions?
Explore these paradoxes of human existence with us through a blend of somatic practices that allow a simultaneous deep dive into the body and dissolution into Presence: the movement practice of Soul Motion, body-based inquiries of Gestalt Practice, and ancient meditative traditions. In this experiment in expressive aliveness, participants dance across the four landscapes of Soul Motion: solo, duet, community, and prayer space. Stillness and movement are included, as well as eclectic music and the great sound of silence. Alone and together, students practice skills for presence, contact, and awareness within a supportive group field.
The workshop is open to any body willing to leap, or stick their toe into the mystery of embodiment, creativity, community, and devotion. Beginners are always especially welcome.
