For thousands of years people have cultivated mindfulness as a complete path to awakening. Contemporary research now reveals that mindfulness greatly improves attention, reduces stress, and increases health, wellbeing, and capacity for happiness. What is true is that we can all learn to live with this mindful presence today and greatly enhance every aspect of our lives.
Mindful awareness allows us to be attentive in the present moment with the quality of acceptance, spaciousness, and equanimity. It is the foundation for living with wisdom and compassion and is the seed from which springs much joy, delight, and peace.
In this course we will explore the innate quality of awareness and what interferes with establishing this mindful presence. Participants will learn to cultivate it through accessible yet profound meditations on the breath, the body, and how to work with feelings and thoughts that can often hamper our meditation wellbeing.
There will be periods of guided sitting and walking meditation, talks on meditation, and ample opportunity for questions and discussion. Suitable for beginning and experienced students
This course can be taken on its own or together with Entering the Heart of Love, December 23-28, for a seven-day immersion experience.
