Today's Arts Center is nourished by the legacy of well known artists, musicians, inventors and authors who have developed a tradition of creativity at Esalen over the decades. Many of the 20th and 21st centuries' most influential figures left their mark here and continue to influence contemporary creative work at the Institute and around the world. Through oral and written history and a rich visual record in photographs we have compiled a timeline showing the diversity of luminaries in the history of arts at Esalen.
