There are many tools in yoga that greatly enhance, support, and liberate the body’s full potential for increased range of movement and help align the spine with the limbs. As in any art form, a tool is just a tool unless one fully understands how to use it with some degree of mastery. As we expand our yoga toolkit to include rollers, straps, movement practices, pressure points, mudras, and creative use of blocks, we simultaneously can learn techniques to open the body lovingly and kindly.
Every part and system of the body has an elegant and intelligent design behind it, supporting its meaning and purpose. The Earth and Water elements enter our bodies through the digestive system, and then flow into the blood stream, building and maintaining the delicate balance of our bones, vital organs, and soft tissues. The Air we breathe brings life to the sacred Fire within, and somehow Space becomes form.
