The healing art form of Esalen Massage is a benchmark for contactful, caring, sensuous, and heartful touch. Created more than forty years ago at the Esalen baths, to the rhythms of the Pacific Ocean, this practice remains timeless as it continues to evolve.
During this weekend workshop, we will explore the basic principles of Esalen Massage: quality of touch and presence, long, integrative and flowing strokes, and passive movement, with the client lying in the side position.
Esalen offers three levels of basic certification in Esalen massage: For those already certified in massage by a state-approved school, the 100-Hour Course provides a Certificate in Esalen® Massage. The 250-hour Esalen® Massage Certification Course meets all core requirements of the CAMTC in California to become a Certified Massage Practitioner. Many of Esalen’s weekend and five-day workshops qualify for follow-up education credit, and can fulfill the requirements for the CAMTC 500-hour Certified Massage Therapist designation.
