Get your hands dirty participating in one of our sustainability initiatives and work with the Farm and Garden department as they cultivate soil, food and the spirit.
There are many ways to get involved:
- Workshops. Each season, the Esalen Farm and Garden offers workshops in the Esalen Farm and Garden experience, teaching the fundamentals of our unique approach. Many other Esalen workshops utilize the Farm and Garden space, connecting people with the land, themselves and each other, through topics ranging from meditation in nature, food preservation, re-skilling, permaculture to landscaping and succulent garden design.
- Volunteering. Join the Farm and Garden crew each weekday to help harvest and tend the land. Those already visiting Esalen for a workshop or personal retreat are welcome; all others, please visit our Volunteer page to learn more about scheduling a volunteer day.
- Apprenticeships. Three- and six-month Apprenticeships invite a deeper relationship with the land and Esalen’s relational agriculture approach.
