With a background in psychology and community development, Levi Felix has always been a creative, grassroots innovator. From founding large-scale art and music festivals, leading hands-on sustainability initiatives, to his work for Global Natives consultancy, he facilitates social change, community development, and both international and individual activism.
After a near-death experience in 2009, Felix left his dream job as the VP of Causecast.org to take a sabbatical from his "always-on," digitally enthralled reality. He traded in his laptop and cellphone for a backpack, and he and his partner Brooke left to travel the world — seeking balance, studying yoga and meditation, and volunteering for non-profits and farms along the way. During their travels they re-evaluated what it meant to live in the age of ubiquitous technology, and when they returned, they created Digital Detox, a tech-free personal wellness experience during which participants give up their smart-phones and gadgets in exchange for serenity and peace of mind. The aim is to decompress and gain new perspectives on how to live a more balanced life online and off.
