Booking a Massage at Esalen

Esalen also offers massage and alternative bodywork sessions for individuals who are not staying on Esalen property. This is a unique opportunity to experience Esalen and our massage and bodywork practitioners. Appointments are based on availability; priority is given to our on-property guests.

Additional Information:

The length of a massage or bodywork session is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The cost of a session is $165. ($125 for overnight guests.)
Massage and or bodywork sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable, with a 24-hour cancellation policy (money goes into non-refundable credit).
Only individuals with a booked session may come on property, no guests.
Call us at 831-667-3002 to make a reservation. Please be prepared to give us the names, mailing addresses, and telephone numbers of all the people for whom you are booking massages.
Individuals with booked sessions may be on property one hour before and stay one hour after their massage or bodywork session to soak in the Esalen hot springs.

Massage and Bodywork Training

Esalen Institute is approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic massage and bodywork (NCBTMB) and the California Department of Post-Secondary Education as a provider of basic massage trainings and continuing education.

Introductory five day and weekend courses.
Massage Practitioner certification courses under license of the State of California Department of Vocational Education.
Advanced specialized training courses (lasting two, five or ten days.) These can be added to the above massage certificate up to a total of 250 hours, or with an individual advisor, to the 500-hour certification.
