was a PEN Award finalist for her novel, Failing Paris. She has also authored two memoirs. Her essays are widely anthologized and her writing has been featured in many publications, including O the Oprah Magazine and Ms. She teaches in the UCLA Writers Program.
The desire to write rises from the urge to say something. In this generative workshop, we’ll go where the heat is and trust that impulse, locating and exploring the true and imagined stories you most urgently have to tell. Over the course of the five-day class, participants will work with each of the five faculty members, doing writing exercises, listening to lectures, and sharing work in class.
