visual artist and professor emeritus, was named finalist for Cal Poly State University's Distinguished Teaching Award (2000), and was granted its Distinguished Research Award (2004). Subsequently she received artist grants from James Irvine, Puffin, and Capelli d'Angeli Foundations.
