Mosaic is the ancient art of creatively assembling and adhering variously colored and textured materials such as tile, stone, and stained glass. Mosaic is seen throughout the world and is known for its rich texture and visual depth. Whether an intricately tiled portrait or a table in your home, mosaic has a quality that can be artistically refined as well as whimsically playful. Adults and children alike can quickly produce striking results. Students will be provided with a wealth of colorful tiles and stones, stained glass, jewels, and trinkets to create with. We take ordinary objects like a stepping stone and create extraordinary works of color and beauty. Soon the sound of your favorite dish accidentally shattering will ring with the delight of artistic possibility.
